Conkers

We have been out collecting conkers most of the weekend in the lovely sunshine. I can't believe how many there are in Greenwich Park. Spiders shall be non-existant in this house for the rest of the year!! (Am on the hunt for those green-fanged arachnids)!
We've had them threaded on string and played good old fashioned conkers. Something which no doubt the children won't experience when they go to school because of the elf n safety police...

  1. I spent some part of saturday dusting all the cobwebs in our garden then read that the spiders are the best predators and no threat to people. Luckily within two days, the industrious little things have rebuilt their webs. I always think if I went away for a few weeks, I'd come back to find our little house completely covered in a web cacoon.
PS have you been up to Bostall Wood...can't walk for all the conkers that they have there.

  2. I have never been to Bostall Wood. No idea why I tend to go to Greenwich Park. I am such a creature of habit....Must explore more..

  3. I think Greenwich park has a lot more going for it then Bostall Woods - except you can find real dinosaur bones at the latter apparently. Have you been over to Danson Park - great for pine cones?
